Christy Beaulieu
Q: Where did you get your idea from? What does it represent?
A: I started with the prompt, an alternate version of self. I immediately thought of a character I have been drawing for years, Rosemary Skullcap, a woodland hag. She is kind of an extension of my dream self.
Q: What technologies, software and processes did you use?
A: I attempted Sculptgl and watched a tutorial but it was challenging. The hair was a disgusting intestine-like texture that I hated. The eyes and hair were okay but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted so I stopped using software and went back to physical sculpting.
Q: What challenges did you encounter? What would you do differently next time?
A: The hair texture was challenging. I would try harder to use modeling software. I maybe gave up a little too easily.
Q: What did you learn?
A: I learned how to 3D scan.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: I am most proud of her nose. Also the hair, it was challenging but I think it came out nicely.
